TEAM OVERVIEW:
Indy’s offense is a fantasy owners dream. There are only two teams in the league that possess a top ten fantasy player at each key position, the Indianapolis Colts and the Dallas Cowboys. Sorry all of you New England fans, don’t be mad at me. It’s Ben Watson’s lack of fantasy production that is excluding your team from that elite club. I am seriously not going to insult you by giving you a breakdown of Indy’s top producers, so let keep this simple. Peyton Manning…great guy, great actor, great quarterback, I’d take him in a heartbeat. Reggie Wayne…in 07 I did take him in pretty much every league I could scoop him up in. I was certainly not disappointed with fantasy production and I certainly won’t be in 08’ either.
Although I’m not the biggest Joseph Addai fan, (It’s personal) there is no way to dispute his fantasy production. I claimed in 07’ that his little sister could produce the way he does, considering the fact that Peyton’s potent pass offense opens more lanes than a bowling alley. I still remain true to that claim, partly because I am prideful. There are 5 backs ranked higher than Addai on our cheat sheets, trust that they are accurate. We haven’t steered our subscribers wrong in the past and we have no intentions of changing our policy. We were able to grab Dallas Clark in a couple of our expert leagues and we love the value we got for him. If you decide to pass on the top 3 or 4 tight-ends, and we hope you do, Dallas will not disappoint. Although Marvin is old and labeled an injury risk, he has a lot of potential to put up solid numbers, in relation to his draft position that is.
Marvin is listed as the teams sleeper rather than Anthony Gonzalez, because Gonzalez is no longer flying under the radar, Marvin is. In most drafts Anthony will be drafted before Harrison and Marvin will be available as a late round option. What if he stays healthy? He is one of the smartest players ever to play the game and he knows how to avoid contact. He is worth the risk if he falls to you late. We really like Anthony’s potential going into the 08’ season. He is a tremendous athlete in an even more impressive offense. He is almost certain to improve on his 07’ statistics. Dominic Rhodes, in his return to Indy, should prove to be a solid handcuff in the event that Addai goes down. What? Don’t give me that look. I’m not smiling at the thought of Addai getting injured, I was just thinking about something else. Honest.
Even the Indy defense will prove to be a solid option. They ranked first in fewest points allowed in 07’ and second in interceptions. With a healthy Dwight Freeney in the mix, look for them to improve on their sack total, making them a well rounded fantasy option.
