Brent attends memorial with team support
Jason Garrett gave the Dallas Cowboys a day off after his players somehow pulled off a win in Cincinnati while reeling from a one-car accident that killed one teammate and landed another in jail.
Many players showed up at team headquarters anyway and there was Josh Brent, the hulking defensive tackle who missed the trip after police say he was driving drunk and caused the wreck that killed practice squad linebacker Jerry Brown, his close friend and roommate.
And Brent was back with his teammates again Tuesday for a private memorial honoring Brown. Players and team officials left without talking to reporters after the hour-long service on a chilly afternoon at Oak Cliff Bible Fellowship in Dallas, but Garrett had made it clear that Brent was still a part of the Cowboys family.
”We’re going to support Josh 100 percent in every way that we can,” Garrett said Monday, a day after the Cowboys beat the Bengals 20-19 with a field goal on the final play to keep their playoff hopes alive.

New York Jets coach Rex Ryan voted as the most bizarre coach currently in NFL
Rex Ryan the New York Jets coach has been rated as the most over rated coach in the NFL. On a total of 103 players who voted at the occasion, 35 voted for Rex Ryan. Bill Belichick, the New England Patriots coach came in on a close seconds spot with Andy Reid, the Philadelphia Eagles coach coming in on the third spot.
An AFC offensive player was reported saying, “Rex Ryan’s coaching style impossible to bear with and on some occasions even bizarre.” “Some of the things tried by the coach in front of the camera are way out of the league and could have been done away with.”
Ryan is mostly remembered for his failed Super Bowl guarantees apart from leading the Jets to the final berth of two consecutive AFC Championships during his initial stint with the club. However, that was in the initial stages after which the Jets failed to qualify for the 2011 and 2012 playoffs in the NFL football league.
Ryan had further commented that he expected the current team to be the best in the history of the Jets, but the team’s current performance has a completely different story to tell. But at the end of the day, the Jets are tied for the last spot in the rankings along with the Buffalo Bills.
However, the players ranging across the 37 teams, who had voted could not vote for their coach and as a result the review was unbiased. The players have actually got over the antics of the coach and some of them have quoted “His actions are not even bizarre anymore.”
“Rex Ryan is however not a bad person to train with. He is confident and funny but that does not make him qualified enough to be a coach of a professional football side in NFL football.” A player was quoted on condition of being anonymous.
Rex Ryan however has a big reputation with the New York magazines and other news dailies and his creative antics are quite popular there. However, that does not mean that the players have a liking for it.
In fact, there is a section among the players who does not have a special liking for Ryan, so much so that they have gone vocal about it. However, things are cooling down and the Jets have more bad news as they will not be qualifying again for a couple of years.
